ASHBRIDGES BAY WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

J+B completed the redesign of the heating system at Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant. The project involved the conversion of plant process and space heating systems from steam to hot water. The heating system was designed to consist of 4 – 40 million BTU per hour output, dual gas fired hot water boilers serving a single pipe primary loop system feeding multiple secondary and tertiary process and building heating system loops.

J+B was responsible for complete mechanical, electrical, PLC and SCADA based instrumentation and control system and structural design. This included switchgear and MCC upgrades and additions, selection of pumps complete with variable speed drives, hot water boilers, heat exchangers and HVAC equipment.

The work also involved process and space heating demand calculations, peer review of conceptual heating system design, mechanical and electrical equipment condition assessments, technology related reviews and preparation of process and control narrative.

J+B provided tendering and construction support services that included factory and site acceptance testing, field verification of mechanical, electrical and control equipment (including PLC and SCADA) and full system commissioning.
