J+B is engaged by DCC/DND to provide as and when required engineering services and architectural services (via Affiliated Architects) in support of Area Support Unit (ASU) London. ASU London consists of 24 sites and approximately 90 structures of with a variation in sizes and requirements. Building Condition Assessments to approximately 60 buildings will be conducted and have and will result in some form of upgrades or renovations to bring them up to standard and/or occupancy expectation. All design related work incorporated client specific standards with a focus on global best practices, building envelope efficiency, and the application of all applicable codes for the long term sustainability of the facility. Services included all studies, permits, applications, and Engineers of Record.
J+B provided a facility report focused on the overall facility functionality, retrofit, and long term sustainability. Post-report services included the complete retrofit redesign of the entire building: Architectural and Engineering infrastructure including all Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) design upgrades and modifications. Types of upgrades included: water services upgrade and sprinkler installation, roof upgrade and/or replacement, window upgrade, parking drainage and utilities upgrade, electrical distribution upgrades, street lighting upgrade, mechanical upgrades, masonry upgrades and interior finishes upgrade.
Other types of projects have/can include: renovation to office areas, renovation to various buildings for change in occupancy, small building additions, design of various outbuildings (shed, repel tower) and building condition reports.
J+B provided building condition assessments, consulting, advisory, investigative and pre-design services, Multidisciplinary design development services, construction documents preparation, tendering call services and construction and post construction support.
