Strathcona Operation Change Room and Ablutions – IOL (completed 2011)
The construction of a new 7,500 sq. ft. operations change room and ablution facilities with-in an existing quality laboratory building. This included all multidisciplinary engineering and architectural design, inclusive of: electrical (inclusive of power distribution, lighting, controls for HVAC systems, life safety systems including fire alarm and public address systems, communications including phone and network systems, integration with Building Automation System), HVAC (inclusive of steam and hydronics heating systems, steam/condensate and hydronics distribution lines, air handling units, DX cooling systems and air distribution ducting system), in-floor heating, septic, building service connections, parking lot, slab on grade, structural steel, internal partitioning, resilient ant-bacterial flooring, fittings & fixtures, plumbing, laboratory cleaning area, laundry area, training area, energy management, BAS (Building Automation System), and keycard security.
J+B was the prime consultant on this project and our services included: Preliminary Design (options analysis, conceptual drawing, assessments), Detailed Design (all engineering, drawings, specifications, construction documents, tender coordination, permits and applications), Construction Services (client representative for EPCM process, work permits, approvals, safety, financial administration, project schedule), Start Up and Handover (Engineers sign off). All electrical engineering designs were compliant with local Electrical Safety and Building Codes. All designs take into account load and control requirements for the whole facility with an emphasis on energy conservation without compromising life safety. Lighting was designed to meet code requirements and to ensure comfort levels of end users.
Strathcona Refinery Renovations – IOL (completed 2010)
Project involved the demolition of the existing laboratory facility and design of a new office layout. Project was inclusive of all mechanical and electrical work. J+B also provided project management and tendering services.
Strathcona Refinery Min Parking, Sidewalks and Fencing – IOL (completion expected July 2012)
Project involved adding 100 additional parking bays, sidewalks and fencing. Project was inclusive of all civil and structural engineering work. J+B also provided project management and contract administration services.
Strathcona Refinery Viper Project – IOL (completed 2011)
Project involved the upgrade of computer systems including wiring of all computer and phone lines. Also provided project management and contract administration services.
